Quick answer
- NooBlue vs Troscriptions is a choice between small swallowed servings you can order online and higher-dose troches sold through healthcare practitioners. NooBlue offers a 10 mg gummy, a 5 mg capsule and 1% drops. Troscriptions sells Just Blue at 16 mg per troche and Tro+ Blue at 50 mg per troche.
- NooBlue makes the products compared here, so we are not neutral. Our pick for most people is the NooBlue Methylene Blue Gummies: one 10 mg gummy a day, zero sugar, no blue mouth, $49.99 for 60.
- Troscriptions suits someone already working with a practitioner who stocks it and who is fine with a troche that dissolves in the mouth and can tint teeth for hours.
- Neither brand is for anyone taking SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOIs or other serotonergic medicines, anyone with G6PD deficiency, or anyone pregnant, breastfeeding or under 18.
A pack of Troscriptions Just Blue holds 64 mg of methylene blue across four troches. A bottle of NooBlue gummies holds 600 mg across 60 gummies and costs $49.99. That gap in milligrams per pack is the first thing most people notice when they compare NooBlue vs Troscriptions, and it shapes almost everything else: how you dose, how long a pack lasts and how you buy it.
We read both brands’ live product pages in October 2026 and compared them on dose, format, buying access and safety. Written by the NooBlue editorial team. Published October 12, 2026. Last updated October 12, 2026.
A disclosure up front. NooBlue makes the gummies, capsules and drops compared below, and the gummies are our pick. Every Troscriptions figure below comes from its own store or product pages, and where those pages leave something out, we say so. If you want Troscriptions judged on its own terms, our full review of the Troscriptions range goes product by product.

NooBlue vs Troscriptions: Which Suits a Daily Routine?
For a simple daily habit at a low dose, NooBlue is the easier fit. Each NooBlue methylene blue gummy holds 10 mg of methylene blue, each NooBlue 5 mg capsule holds 5 mg, and the NooBlue 1% drops are a 1% solution (10 mg per mL) you can measure in small steps. You take one serving and you are done.
Troscriptions builds its range around the troche. Just Blue carries 16 mg per troche and Tro+ Blue carries 50 mg. Both are scored so you can break them, and both product pages list a pack of four troches as “up to 16 doses”. That makes the user do the dividing, and the pieces are not individually labeled.
Buying access is the other big difference. Troscriptions now shows a site banner saying its products are available exclusively through healthcare practitioners, with a map to find one. NooBlue sells all three formats directly at checkout with free worldwide shipping on orders over $100. Some third-party shops still list Just Blue, so availability depends on where you look.
NooBlue vs Troscriptions Side by Side
The table below puts every product on the same footing: milligrams of methylene blue per unit, pack size, the price shown on the brand’s own page, and cost per milligram. Prices are as of Oct 2026. Cost per milligram is the pack price divided by the total methylene blue in the pack. Troscriptions now sells only through healthcare practitioners, so we do not give a store price or cost per mg for it.
| Product | Format | Methylene blue per unit | Pack | Price (as of Oct 2026) | Cost per mg | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| NooBlue Methylene Blue Gummies (our pick) | Chewable gummy | 10 mg | 60 gummies (600 mg) | $49.99 | $0.08 | An easy daily dose with no measuring and no blue mouth |
| NooBlue Methylene Blue Capsules | Swallowed capsule | 5 mg | 60 capsules (300 mg) | $37.99 | $0.13 | Starting at the lowest fixed dose |
| NooBlue Methylene Blue Drops | 1% liquid | 10 mg per mL | 50 mL (500 mg) | $29.99 | $0.06 | The lowest cost per mg and fine dose control |
| Troscriptions Just Blue | Troche, dissolves in the mouth | 16 mg | 4 troches (64 mg) | Through practitioners | Not calculable | Practitioner clients who want a troche |
| Troscriptions Tro+ Blue | Troche, dissolves in the mouth | 50 mg | 4 troches (200 mg) or 15 (750 mg) | Through practitioners | Not calculable | Higher single servings under practitioner guidance |
Two things stand out. NooBlue’s drops are the lowest-cost NooBlue format at about $0.06 per mg, and the gummies come in at about $0.08 per mg. Each Just Blue pack holds only 64 mg, and Tro+ Blue means buying 50 mg troches that you will need to split for a low daily amount.
NooBlue also cuts the price on multi-bottle orders: 10% off two bottles, 15% off three and 20% off five.
How You Take Each One
The formats ask different things of you every morning. A NooBlue capsule is swallowed with water, so nothing touches your teeth. A NooBlue gummy is chewed.
Our gummies pair the methylene blue with vitamin C, which can shift methylene blue toward its colorless form, and they do not leave the blue mouth or blue tongue that liquid drops can. NooBlue drops are measured into water and can tint the mouth, which is the trade-off for their low cost and precise dosing.
Troscriptions troches dissolve in the mouth. Its own FAQ is clear about the side effect: the troche will temporarily stain your mouth, including your teeth, and the color can last from 2 to 24 hours. The brand suggests rinsing with a vinegar and water mix, then baking soda, to speed up the fading, and it tells anyone worried about dental work to ask a dentist first.
Does the troche change how much methylene blue reaches your body? Troscriptions does not publish absorption data for its troches, and we have none for our own formats either, so neither brand can claim an advantage here. What is known about swallowed methylene blue comes from a small clinical study described below. If you want a closer look at how the swallowed formats differ from each other, our guide to methylene blue gummies vs capsules covers taste, timing and dose.
What the Research Says About Low Oral Doses
Neither brand has run its own clinical trial, so the honest evidence is general research on methylene blue itself. A randomized, placebo-controlled trial published in Radiology gave 26 healthy adults aged 22 to 62 a single low oral dose. One hour later, brain scans showed more activity during attention and short-term memory tasks, and the group answered 7% more memory-retrieval questions correctly. That is one small, single-dose human study, which is encouraging but far from settled.
A pharmacokinetic study in the European Journal of Clinical Pharmacology gave 100 mg of methylene blue to 7 volunteers by mouth and by vein. Blood levels after the oral dose were much lower than after the injection, and the terminal half-life after the injection was about 5.25 hours. The authors’ rat data showed that methylene blue taken by mouth concentrated more in the gut wall and liver than in blood and brain.
Methylene blue is studied for its role in cellular energy: it can carry electrons in the mitochondria, which is why both brands talk about energy and focus. That mechanism comes mostly from cell and animal work. NooBlue describes its products as supporting mitochondrial energy and focus, and we keep it there. For how methylene blue sits next to your morning coffee, see our piece on methylene blue and caffeine.
Formula, Add-Ins and Testing
NooBlue keeps each product to methylene blue plus what the format needs. The gummies hold 10 mg of USP-grade methylene blue and 25 mg of vitamin C in a zero-sugar pectin chew. The capsules and drops contain methylene blue without stimulants. NooBlue publishes a report from Contract Testing Laboratories of America on its methylene blue ingredient, and that report covers the raw ingredient lot rather than each finished batch.
Troscriptions describes its products as USP-grade and third-party lab tested, and it sends a Certificate of Analysis to anyone who fills in a request form. Its range goes beyond plain methylene blue. Blue Cannatine, for example, combines 5 mg of methylene blue per troche with caffeine, nicotine and hemp crystals, in a pack of four. The page does not list the amounts of the other ingredients, and the brand tells people who should avoid stimulants not to use it.
If you want methylene blue on its own without a stimulant stack, NooBlue and Just Blue both fit, and NooBlue gives you three formats to choose from. We compare more gummy brands in our roundup of methylene blue gummies, where the NooBlue gummies are ranked first.
Safety Rules Both Brands Print
On safety, NooBlue and Troscriptions say much the same thing, and it is worth reading twice. Do not take methylene blue with SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOIs or other serotonergic medicines, because of the risk of serotonin syndrome. A study in the British Journal of Pharmacology showed why: methylene blue is a potent inhibitor of the MAO A enzyme that breaks down serotonin. That work was done on purified human enzyme, not in people, but it explains the reports of serotonin toxicity.
Skip methylene blue if you have G6PD deficiency, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you are under 18. Expect your urine to turn blue or green with any format, which is harmless and passes. If you take any prescription medicine, talk to your doctor before you start. Troscriptions adds that serotonergic drug users should only take its products under close supervision from a healthcare provider.
Start low. A 5 mg NooBlue capsule is the gentlest way in, and the 10 mg gummy is a standard daily step from there. Our guide to methylene blue side effects lists what to watch for and when to stop.
This article is for educational purposes only and is not medical advice. Talk to a qualified healthcare professional before starting any new supplement, especially if you take serotonergic medication (SSRIs, SNRIs or MAOIs), have G6PD deficiency, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a health condition.
NooBlue vs Troscriptions: Frequently Asked Questions
Troscriptions vs NooBlue: can you compare cost per milligram?
Not directly. Troscriptions now sells only through healthcare practitioners, so we do not give a store price or cost per mg for it. Based on NooBlue’s listed prices as of Oct 2026, NooBlue drops work out to about $0.06 per mg and the gummies to about $0.08 per mg.
Can I buy Troscriptions without a practitioner?
The Troscriptions site says its products are now available exclusively through healthcare practitioners and points buyers to a practitioner map. Some independent retailers still list Just Blue. NooBlue products are sold directly on nooblue.com.
Why do I feel so good on methylene blue?
Some people report feeling sharper or more energetic, and the likely reason is methylene blue’s role in cellular energy. In the small Radiology trial above, a single low dose raised brain activity on attention and memory tasks. Feelings vary from person to person, and expectation plays a part, so judge it over a couple of weeks at a steady dose.
What can I substitute for methylene blue?
Nothing does exactly the same job, because few compounds act as an electron carrier in the mitochondria the way methylene blue does. People looking for energy support often look at CoQ10 or NAD+ precursors instead, which work on different parts of cellular energy. If your reason for switching is a medicine interaction, ask your doctor which options are safe with what you take.
Is methylene blue hard on the liver?
Research on low supplement doses and the liver is limited. In the pharmacokinetic study above, methylene blue given by mouth to rats concentrated more in the gut wall and liver than in the blood. If you have a liver condition or take medicines processed by the liver, speak with your doctor before using methylene blue.
Why don’t doctors recommend methylene blue?
Many doctors are cautious because methylene blue interacts with common antidepressants and because human research on daily supplement use is still small. That caution is reasonable. It is also why both NooBlue and Troscriptions print the same warnings about serotonergic medicines, G6PD deficiency and pregnancy.
How long does a pack of each brand last?
A NooBlue bottle of 60 gummies or 60 capsules lasts 60 days at one a day. A 50 mL bottle of NooBlue drops holds about 100 servings. A pack of Just Blue lists up to 16 doses once the four troches are split, so it runs out much sooner.
See NooBlue Gummies · $49.99The Bottom Line
Choose NooBlue if you want a fixed daily serving you can order online and no blue teeth. The gummies are our pick for most people; the 5 mg capsules suit a cautious start, and the drops give the most control for the least money. Choose Troscriptions if your practitioner already stocks it and you prefer a troche.
