What “Supreme” means on a methylene blue label

Nothing in particular. There is no company called Supreme selling methylene blue, and no purity tier with that name. In September 2026 we found the word on two unrelated listings. Earth Harmony’s Amazon title ends with “Supreme Methylene Blue Pills (60 Capsules)”. PureHealth Max’s Amazon listing is titled “Supreme Methylene Blue Capsules”, followed by “Pharmaceutical Grade Supplement for Humans” and “USP Grade 1% High Quality Third Party Tested”. Two reviews that both say “Supreme” may be talking about different bottles with different doses.

The words next to it can carry information. “USP grade” points to the pharmacopeia standard for methylene blue as an ingredient, which requires 97.0% to 103.0% methylene blue on the dried basis. A certificate of analysis is a specific lab document, and “third-party tested” without one is a statement you can’t check. One word to be wary of: “1%” in a capsule title. A percentage describes the strength of a solution. It says nothing about how much methylene blue is in a capsule, which is why the milligrams per capsule matter more than anything in the product name.

We converted every product we could to total milligrams of methylene blue per pack, then divided the price by that to get a cost per 10 mg. Where a product doesn’t state enough, or can’t currently be bought, we leave the cell blank. We ranked on five things, in this order of weight:

The gummies also avoid the complaint that makes many people stop taking methylene blue. NooBlue gummies don’t leave the blue mouth or tongue that drops can. Each gummy has 25 mg of vitamin C, and vitamin C can shift methylene blue toward its colorless form, leucomethylene blue. The product page is clear that the ingredient report doesn’t measure that balance in the finished gummy, so we don’t claim it as the proven reason, and we don’t claim the gummies absorb better. The purple color comes from blueberry extract.

On paperwork, the product page links a certificate from Contract Testing Laboratories of America (CTLA) for a named lot of the methylene blue ingredient, with an HPLC identity result of “Conforms” and results for arsenic, cadmium, mercury and lead. That is ingredient-level evidence. It doesn’t give a purity percentage or test each finished bottle, and the page says so.

Label: 10 mg of USP-grade methylene blue per capsule, formaldehyde free, vegan capsules. 60 capsules for $34.99 or 120 for $44.99, which is $0.58 or $0.37 per 10 mg. The FAQ suggests taking 1 capsule with a glass of water to test tolerance.

Chemist Labs isn’t called “Supreme”, but it is the capsule most buyers in this search should compare against. The 120-count bottle is the cheapest per milligram of anything here. It also publishes a lab reports page listing certificates for three separate capsule lots, more lot-level paperwork than any other product in this comparison.

Its warnings name SSRIs and other medicines that affect serotonin, pregnancy, nursing and children, and add a note about antihistamines such as diphenhydramine. We found no G6PD warning on the product page.

#5. Nutricel Blue Boost: best for a potency report (US only)

Label: 12 mg of USP-grade methylene blue per capsule with vitamin C ester (ascorbyl palmitate, 35 mg) and organic cacao powder (235 mg), vegetarian capsule, 60 capsules. $34.90, which is $0.48 per 10 mg.

Nutricel’s lab tests page lists a Blue Boost certificate from Eurofins covering methylene blue potency, heavy metals and microbial safety, tested July 2025. A potency result on the finished capsule is the kind of document we’d like every brand to publish. Its safety notice names SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOIs and other serotonergic medicines, pregnancy and nursing, children and allergy medicines such as Benadryl, and says taking it in the evening may affect sleep. Label: Earth Harmony’s own store calls it “Ultimate Methylene Blue (60 Capsules)”. Its site FAQ says each capsule contains 12 mg of methylene blue. The description adds vitamin C and a plant-based blend of organic berberine, chlorophyllin and chlorophyll, without amounts in the page text. $39.95 for 60 on the brand’s store, which is $0.55 per 10 mg. The Amazon listing that carries the “Supreme Methylene Blue Pills” title showed no featured offer when we checked.

This is the product most people mean by “Supreme methylene blue pills”, and it is a real, buyable capsule at a fair price per milligram. The description calls the methylene blue “99.99% USP / pharmaceutical grade” and says all products undergo third-party testing, but we found no certificate or lab name on the product page. Its safety box says it is not recommended during pregnancy or nursing, advises anyone with a G6PD mutation to consult a healthcare provider, and says not to combine it with SSRIs, antidepressants or other serotonin-affecting substances without medical supervision. Earth Harmony offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on its own products, with a $5.99 return shipping charge deducted from refunds.

Two points to weigh. The added berberine is an active ingredient in its own right, so this isn’t a methylene-blue-only product. And “99.99%” appears as a claim without a document you can open.

Label: 16 mg of methylene blue per troche, 4 troches per pack, scored for splitting. $27.00 per pack at Hi-Life Vitamins, which is $4.22 per 10 mg. Troscriptions’ own site says its products are now available exclusively through healthcare practitioners, with certificates available by request.

Just Blue is a different format: a troche that dissolves in the mouth. The company is straightforward about the trade-off. Its FAQ says it will turn your mouth blue, that the discoloration lasts between 2 and 24 hours, and that it temporarily stains the mouth, including the teeth. Its warnings name serotonergic medicines, pregnancy, breastfeeding and G6PD deficiency. At $4.22 per 10 mg it is by far the most expensive option here, and the practitioner channel adds a step. Listing: “Supreme Methylene Blue Capsules”, described in the title as a pharmaceutical grade supplement for humans, “USP Grade 1%” and third-party tested. Brand PURE HEALTH MAX, 30 count. The bullets say each capsule delivers 10 mg and that it is third-party tested for potency and purity. When we checked, Amazon showed it as currently unavailable, with no date for its return.

This is the product with “Supreme” at the start of its name, so it is the one many searches land on. We can’t recommend it on what the listing shows. You can’t buy it right now, there is no price to compare, the “1%” in a capsule title means nothing, and we found no lab document, directions or safety warnings in the listing text. We also found no brand store to check. The PureHealth Max domain redirected elsewhere.

1. Ignore the adjective. “Supreme”, “Ultimate” and “Max” are names, not standards.

3. Read the full ingredient list. Added actives such as berberine, cacao or NAC change what you are taking.
4. Check the warnings. Serotonergic medicines, G6PD deficiency, pregnancy and breastfeeding, and an age limit. Missing warnings are a red flag.
5. Open the lab document. Note the lab, the date, the lot and what was tested. “Third-party tested” with nothing to open is a claim, not evidence.

What the research says

No published study has tested any of these products. The human research uses methylene blue itself, usually at much larger doses than a supplement.

• Absorption: Walter-Sack and colleagues (European Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, 2009) gave 16 healthy adults 500 mg as an oral solution and 50 mg intravenously. Absolute bioavailability of the oral dose was 72.3% (plus or minus 23.9%).
• Brain activity: Rodriguez and colleagues (Radiology, 2016) gave 26 adults a single 280 mg dose or placebo. An hour later, brain activity during attention and memory tasks had increased, and correct memory answers rose by 7%. That dose is 28 times a NooBlue gummy.
• Safety: Ramsay, Dunford and Gillman (British Journal of Pharmacology, 2007) showed methylene blue is a potent reversible inhibitor of MAO-A, the enzyme that breaks down serotonin. That is why the serotonin syndrome warning matters on every label.
